Have you solidified your plans on where you want to be financially in 1 year? 2 years? 5 years?
Have you written down all of those goals? Have you taken inventory to assess what needs to change for you to get closer to those financial goals?
Do you have a clear vision?
If your answers are “no,” you are currently suffering from a bout of inertia and chances are that you are not being intentional.
No clear goals. No targets. No future vision.
Folks, when I walk into a business coaching session the very first technical thing we look at is targets: Are you setting financial targets for this company? Are these targets being reviewed against actual results on a monthly basis at the very least? Do you understand why your actual results did not reach your intended target results? What can you do to improve?
Why do I do this? Because knowing is more empowering than not. And if you want to grow, you must quantify that growth.
Imagine being this intentional about your life. Did you notice how unemotional those business questions seemed? They were very “matter of fact,” right?
Often, when we look at our own life in this way, we get all jumbled up in our emotions. For example, if one of your goals is financial stability, looking at your current financial situation may be scary stuff. So you may be compelled to ignore it all together which keeps you in a negative financial situation.
Wounds heal faster if you take the bandage off.
Muster up the courage to look at what really needs to change. Expose yourself to those things in an effort to heal / change / improve them.
Have you been intentional about your personal finances? Business finances? Spend sometime setting some goals. Compare those goals to where you are today. What needs to change in order to get you to where you want to be?
